Defeated Again!
Oh dear, this is not good! For the second time this year I have given up without finishing a book. This is not like me at all but I gave up with Gone With the Wind and I have just popped The Full Cupboard of Life by Alexander McCall-Smith back on the shelf after getting about half way through. I know it's silly but I feel incredibly guilty when I don't finish a book but these two just didn't grab me. I do have a lot on my mind at the moment so I am sure this isn't helping but I have really missed looking forward to reading my current book when I get chance. I have trawled through my book shelves and decided to give She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb a go, hopefully it will be third time lucky!

I've Gone with the Wind but haven't got around to reading it yet! I guess I'm intimidated by the volumn, it's so thick! LOL.
BTW, I've passed you an award!
Good luck. I feel guilty about not finishing books as well. But some things are just too much.
I give up on books all the time. Comes from moving a copy of Hawthorne's The House of Seven Gables around for 25 years before realizing I was never going to get past chapter three. Read what you like. There are too many books out there to torture yourself.
Ms. Yingling- I am getting much better at admitting defeat! I take your view more and more, why waste my time reading something I am not enjoying when there is loads of other good books out there.
