Apologies and Birthdays!!

Dot Scribbles has been very quiet of late! For one reason or another I just have not been reading as much, I am really enjoying the new Cecelia Ahern book but I feel like it is taking me ages to get through it and I have been very lax on the blogging front! Hopefully this shall change this week and I will be posting a bit more!
I celebrated my birthday yesterday and it was really lovely, everyone made a big effort and I had a brilliant day! Mr S completely spoilt me and got me an e-reader, it's an Elonex one from Borders and I LOVE it!! It came with a 100 books already loaded on to it, ranging from Shakespeare to Beatrix Potter, there's quite a few that I have been meaning to read so I already have plenty to choose from. As soon as I have finished my current book, I am going to download something and read it on the e-reader so I shall let you know how I get on. I don't think that I will have any problems though as it is ever so light to hold and I can't quite believe how much the screen does actually look like the page of a book! I am never going to stop buying books but I think that I am going to get a lot of use out of this present, it will be great for on holiday, no more over-weight luggage charges for me!

Happy belated Birthday!!! What a cool gift - Wow!

By the by, I get the same way sometimes where I am just not reading as much and it takes me forever to get through one book because I am just not in the mood. Those are the times when I wind up reading magazines and watching a bit too much telly. :)

Happy Birthday Dot. One of the definite benefits of the e-readeris not lugging around all your books on vacation. That's probably the biggest selling point for me. I love my books!

Belated Happy Birthday, Dot, so glad you had a lovely day and was spoilt. I thought you had been quiet recently, the same thing happened to me during July, August and September although I did read a lot, just didn't blog so much - we all have highs and lows so don't worry about it.
Your birthday gift is lovely, how thoughtful, too. I am still not convinced about ereaders because I love the touch and feel of real books so much as well as that whole rummaging through bookshop experience, but I have to say, the point you make about being able to travel much lighter in the future is definitely a benefit of having one, I'll be interested to hear what you think of reading a whole book on the Elonex.
So happy to see you back, Dot.

Nadia- thank you! I do feel like it's taking me forever to get through my current book but I am enjoying it!

Nicole- thanks! I love my books too and I could never imagine not having a house full of them but the e-reader definitely had its plus points!

Simon- thank you! I had a lovely day!

Kim- thank you! I think I've just had a lot on recently so haven't had chance to really get into anything! Feeling a little more settled now so more reading and blogging to come! I shall reply to your email too this weekend and try and attach some wedding pics!
