Booking Through Thursday: Recent Fluff
What’s the lightest, most “fluff” kind of book you’ve read recently?
I'm not sure if I like would like to use the word 'fluff' to describe it but the lightest book that I have read recently would be Life's Too Short to Frost a Cupcake by Rosie Wilde. It was pure escapism, basically Alice has got a good, solid job at Carmichael Music, an extremely reliable boyfriend and a family that doesn't cause her too much trouble. However, this all changes when Alice's boss from New York pays a visit to the London office. Alice is pretty certain that she is in the firing line, but instead she is offered a dream job opportunity in America. The only catch is that the aim of her glamorous new job is to persuade the once-successful but now highly reclusive rock star, Wyatt Brown to record an album.
I'm really enjoying reading some lighter books at the moment, it's lovely to just drift away somewhere pleasant for a while! What's the lightest book that you have read recently?

Platinum by Jo Rees wa my latest bit of fluff. Brilliant, page turner but not very meaniful. Pure escapism to snuggle up with!
Kirsty- I will have to have a look for this one, thanks for the recommendation!
This book sounds good, love the cover.
Violet-It was the cover that caught my eye! It's a really good read!
Ounds cute. I love the cover...probably my favorite this about fluff. :0)
I LOVE escapism! Sometimes you just need a break :) Here's my BTT response.
ness, sorry to just echo everyone else but this cover is brilliant, and the title is inspired! My light reads were chosen on covers too :)
I totally agree that sometimes you just want to escape in a fluff book because they don't really make you think (which can be a good thing when there is already so much going on in your life). You can just get lost in the story. That is probably why I am loving the Sookie Stackhouse series right now. I'm on book 2 and am really enjoying it.
I am thinking of reading a few romances. That is fluff for me.
Booking through recent fluff
Novel Insights- my light reads are very often chosen by cover, they always seem to be the most eye-catching on the shelf!
Nadia- I keep meaning to look at the Sookie Stackhouse books, I've heard lots of positive things about them.
gautami tripathy- I agree with you here, I tend to read romances if I want something a bit lighter.
Great cover! Sounds like a fun book. :-)
I could go for a cupcake. Here is mine
Marie- It's a really good book and the cover is lovely!
I absolutely love the cover of this book.
I'm wondering if all "chick lit" would be categorized as "fluffy" because it's intention is escapism. Who wants to read something heavy when life's getting heavy?
I love the cover and the title - plus the story sounds really interesting. I think I'll be adding this one to my to-read list!
BTT
Sounds like a good read to me! Love the cover!!
This books sounds interesting :)
Literature Crazy- I couldn't agree more, I love it when a book can completely take you away somewhere else for a while!
Melody- I really enjoyed it and I still really like looking at the cover even though it makes me want to eat cake!
I loved Rosie Wilde's book too. Rebecca Farnworth's book Valentine was a light read of mine lately, brilliant and very easy to read!
I love the cover! I've never heard of this author, so I'll have to give her a try.
My latest fluff book was Sleeping Arrangements by Madeleine Wickham..Here's my BTT:http://jessicalawlor.blogspot.com/2009/08/booking-through-thursday_27.html
