Booking Through Thursday: Hot!

Now that summer is here (in the northern hemisphere, anyway), what is the most “Summery” book you can think of? The one that captures the essence of summer for you?

I would have to say To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The friendship that forms between Jem, Scout and Dill over the first summer that they meet reminds me of the Summers that I used to spend playing outside with my friends. I love this book, going to pop it on my summer reading pile right now!

Hmm, interesting question ... The first thing that comes to mind is Operation Sunshine by Jenny Colgan, which I haven't actually read yet, but it seems like such a summery book and I'm saving it for my seaside holiday! :)

What a brilliant choice, I dont think a book has to be all aout a stereotypical to make its a summery read its all about the emotions and feelings it evokes. Great choice Dot.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a perfect choice for summer. I found myself perusing this chick lit type of summer romance novel. Ha! Never says never! It's called Sceneic Route.

For me summer is usually the time when I read a lot of mysteries.

Would you believe I've never read this book?

It's on my wish list and I did see the movie but that doesn't count, does it? I didn't think so. The book is always better!!

I have yet to be able to get into either the book or the movie. I might try the move again this summer and then read the book if I can get through the movie.

All change here!
