Book Review: Who's That Girl? by Alexandra Potter

What would you do if you could meet yourself aged twenty-one again? What advice would you give and what events from your life would you want to change? Who's That Girl? explores exactly that, Charlotte Merryweather bumps into her younger self and sets out to make some changes, however she begins to wonder if her present, thirty-one year old self is as happy with life as she should be. Charlotte runs her own successful PR agency, she is house hunting with Miles, her sensible and dependable boyfriend and life seems good. Yet when she is face to face with her 21 year old past she has to question as to what happened to the care-free, fun loving woman she used to be?

Alexandra Potter is a new author for me but she is a very welcome discovery. The book revolves around such a clever idea and it does leave you wondering what you would say to your twenty-one year old self if given the chance. I loved the parts of the book between the present Charlotte and the old one, you get to see how much she has changed and how her present day situation is so different from the one she thought she wanted.

Alexandra Potter brings a lot of humour to this book. I found it to be fast paced and entertaining; I shall be looking out for her other books in the future.

I enjoyed this one - it was a clever concept. I can't remember if I've read any of her other novels.

It's good isn't it? I must reccommend Be Careful What You Wish For by Alexandra Potter, I think it's her best one. Again a bit of a magical concept and really funny :)x

Oh, I love Alexandra Potter!!! Glad to hear you enjoyed this one as I loved it too! However, like Kirsty, I'd also strongly recommend Be Careful What You Wish For as I think it's her best work! Me and Mr Dary was good too and I have yet to read Do You Come Here Often? and Calling Romeo - both books are already sitting on my shelf, waiting! :)
Also intrigued by the book you're reading right now - looking forward to your review!

I haven't read anything by Alexandra Potter, I must put her name on my ever growing list of authors and books to look out for.
Interesting concept to meet with your 21 year old self, I'm not sure what I would say to be honest.
Thanks for the review, Dot.

Nadia- thank you, I love it when you find a new author that you enjoy.

Rhiana- Me too, it's such a clever idea!

Kim- I have been thinking about it quite a bit since I finished it and it's interesting to wonder whether you would change anything or not!

Definitely an interesting idea! I have no clue what I would say to my 21-year-old self... probably just to take bigger risks and not be so afraid of love and heartbreak. Wise words. :) I read Alexandra Potter's Me And Mr. Darcy and wasn't really a fan, but I'd be willing to give her another try!

Meg- I think that would be excellent advice! I have heard a few people say that about Me and Mr Darcy but everyone seems to have loved Br Careful What You Wish For.
